So I'm not being entirely honest. I spent another night entertaining myself in various ways. First I played about 7 hours of Animal Crossing on the Game Cube I rented from work. Then I chatted with Nick who had the misfortune of experiencing an armed robbery at a Convenience Store, then I watched The Corporation, and here I am now at 6:30 am waiting to wash the dye out of my hair.
Animal Crossing I've discovered is really only fun if you cheat by every hour or so saving and restarting the game after moving the date ahead. You can even skip ahead by only playing like one hour on each "special" day in your town. I named my town Pootown by the way. And I'd love to know how I can buy myself a bed. I've never come across a bed. I dug a covered wagon out of the ground, and I planted a peach orchard in a town that only had cherries as a form of income, but I don't have a bed to sleep in...
So at about 2:30am (I started playing Animal Crossing at about 6pm) Nick nudged me on MSN and I separated myself from the GCube. I thought it would be just another one of our interesting, but nonsensical late night chats, but he was informing me of the fact that the convenience store he visited on his way home from work was robbed at knifepoint. Once I was sure he wasn't slashed up, we starting talking about the new hilarious Strong Bad Email 127. Then Nick took off, I assume to bed. But not I.
When Nick signed off I popped in the Corporation, which is now available on DVD as a special edition. It didn't really present me with anything I didn't already know about the corporate world, but I've probably done much more study on the topic then the average person and it was an entertaining film, so I give it a thumbs up, and I suggest it to anyone remotely interested in the subjects of Corporations, Sustainability or Documentary Film. My one concern is that it seemed rather long. Maybe it was just me but it felt like a good 3 hours.
After all that I decided to settle into a little pre-bed hair-dying. Ok, so I'm weird. Yes. I decided to dye my hair black. Yes, black, the colour my hair already was. Well my hair was actually very dark brown, and I had $10, and black is the new black, so I took the plunge. It looks pretty good. Actually it looks dry the same colour it looks when it is wet, that being black. Essentially, it was entirely unnecessary. It wasn't even productive from the viewpoint of vanity, because I'm pretty sure no one will notice unless I tell them. Plus I'm concerned my already dry scalp may just fall off in my sleep. We'll see. I guess you can just chalk all this up to me being an eccentric. It happens.
Keep On Trangling,
Anthony Pereira
P.S. I didn't discuss in an earlier blog, but good times were had by all at Tania's Birthday Celebrations on Saturday. I was expecting some of the people there, but I was plesently surprised by the presence of a lot of people who had come from pretty far away (I guess it helped that is was the Easter Holiday.) In an interesting note, Jeff Jewel was there. I haven't seen that guy since Robfest 2. I'd really like to know what he does with his life, cause he doesn't seem at all different from when I first met him like 7 years ago when he was in grade 11 and I was in grade 9. Maybe he knows the secret to being young, crazy, and reckless forever.... maybe...
