The posibility of merger was difficult from the outset. Several members of the AGOC board were strongly opposed to any change in the management of the family owned and managed company. When rumours spread that NICK CORP intened to shut down the historic Anthony School of Design along with associated Pereira Marketing and AntGraphic, division in the board was solidified, and the vote was stuck at 6 to 6.
NICK CORP, determined to gain a foothold in Canada, made a second, reduced, offer to buy all of AGOC except the Design Division. The board, already wary of the intentions of the American conglomerate rejected this offer outright. Nick Seaman, CEO/CFO/HNIC of NICK CORP had this to say upon hearing the news of the rejection of his proposals, "The Board of Directors for The Anthony Group of Companies are a bunch of idiotic twatsticks who don't know their ass(sic) from their elbows. NICK CORP will bury them. BURY THEM!" Officials at AGOC were unavailable for comment.
AGOC is a privately owned and operated management coporation.
Keep on Tranglin,
Anthony
