This is what was on the board. The category was "Phrase".
SAIL _ _ _ INT_
THE SUNSET
THE SUNSET
It took them about four or five random guesses to get the needed 'O' and about the same to figure out the 'F'. Guesses included 'M', 'P' and 'T'. One contestant, after correctly guessing the 'O' tried to solve the puzzle as "Sail out into the sunset." Sure it is a phrase, but not a well known and commonly used one. Most importantly though, both 'U' and 'T' were already on the board.
The audience was audibly astounded at the stupidity and it was fairly obvious that Pat Sajak was doing everything he could to prevent himself from slapping all three of them. Vanna White looked no different than usual. I don't think she is able to change her facial expression.
Keep on Tranglin,
Anthony

That is why I don't watch game shows and, for a similar reason, reality shows.
I hate people that can't sppel.
so what was the answer?
nick hates me.
Aw, don't say that. I'm sure he hates lots of other people too.
i had a similar experience last week with Family Feud - the topic was "creatures with large mouths" and one of the contestants said "a cat". she then banged her own head on the table, which is good because it looked like Bert Newton would have done so for her anyway.
I like waffles.
Mmmmm... waffles!
Sorry Anthony I drooled on your blog, I promis I'll clean it up later.

That's just silly - it doesn't make any sense! I hate Wheel of Fortune.
I don't hate anyone. Especially not Melissa, Nads or Becca. And Kitty, I guess.
Sidenote to Becca: Thanks!

I find Wheel of Fortune so maddening for this very reason that I can scarcely stomach it any longer.
Vanna starched her face years ago. I read about it, can't remember where.
I dig the current selection of tunes, btw, Anthony.
A very Happy Snappy Birthday to Lou Reed!
