I don't care if you don't like the new look or if it doesn't display properly.
I LOVE IT.
And I'm going to marry it, and the new template and I are going to settle down in Newmarket together and make lots of little baby templates.
I'm suddenly very itchy tonight. I think I may have lice or flesh eating disease or something. Or maybe I'm just a bit concerned that class starts again tomorrow and I'm just really not mentally prepared for that whole "academia" thing. Macadamia yes, academia no.
Holiday catch-up:

December 26: Sleep in, still sick, parents drive me back to Toronto.

Jan 1: Wake up at 1:30 pm, parents drive me back to Toronto and bring my tree home with them, work, movie in Nadia's room, sleep.'
January 2: Watched UK The Office (didn't like it), changed blog template, movies in Nadia's room.
I seriously DO NOT like the UK The Office. I don't feel anything between Tim and Dawn like I do with Pam and Jim and I don't personally feel anything for any of the characters other than just hating them all, a lot. Ricky Gervais does do the whole "horrible boss" thing really well, but it really seems like the show relies too heavily on him. His staff also openly hate him and he is absolutely incompetent, which makes you wonder why they stay and how he has a job. Michael Scott, on the other hand, is a nice but stupid guy who lacks social skills, and though he is generally a screw up he does manage to impress often enough to survive. Instead of hating him like David Brent, I pity him.
The UK series started it all, it just didn't have the time. With so few episodes per season, and only two seasons, all the great plot ideas and gags got in the way of what is supposed to be a character driven show. I blame the way British television works- constantly churning out ideas without ever letting one, even a great one, get the chance to be properly fleshed out (with the exception of Coronation Street).
I'll probably be assassinated for that.
Keep on Tranglin,
Anthony

it's only assassination if you're famous. what you're going to get is murdered.
i know what this is about... you got so canadian you folded back on yourself and started turning american. if you'd stayed true to the commonwealth you'd still have the appropriate sense of humour to realise how much better the UK office is than the american one.
happy new year!
ps. Sweet Homewreckers are having their first Toronto gig! You should come! We're on second, yea!!!!!
Sorry to say it Loz, but Canadians are more like Americans than they are like any member of the Commonwealth.
I'm probably turned off a lot by the fact I can't relate to the British show. I don't get a lot of the jokes. And the ones that I do get are really dumb gay jokes (what is this 1987?).
Smoking in an office lunch-room? Crazy!
Drinking with the boss at lunch? Insane!
TEA?!
i love Ricky Gervais, but you are right that he is carrying the show. Steve Carell even things out a lot better.
whoa, i managed to stay away from Civ 4 for the entire break I just realized.
nice work on the fake countdowns, over-eager revelers deserve everything they get!
Did you see the one shot special that takes place after the series? It really ties things together.
